Today CS Hon Peter Munya visited Kiutine where he Commissioned the Kiutine Police Post borehole and presided over handover of the Kiutine modern Miraa market shed.
CS reiterated his message of yesterday that the government had provided money for construction of upmarket Mirra sheds to bring miraa marketing into the modern age. He also urged miraa farmers to join the Miraa Cooperatives to benefit from the many benefits accruing especially advances at only 3%. He added that the Isiolo International Airport is being expanded to be able to handle larger commercial aircraft that will be able to carry miraa to international markets.
Just like yesterday, many speakers praised the CS for being the champion of miraa farmers especially his visit to as the the then first governor of Meru he to Somalia to negotiate the ban of miraa in the horn of Africa country.
Farmers wholeheartedly support CS for his efforts in reforming and improving Agriculture in general and the Miraa sector in particular.
