Today CAS, Livestock and Fisheries, Hon. Linah Jebii Kilimo officially launched the Conflict Prevention and Resolution Women’s Peace Caravan for Baringo West Pokot and Turkana counties at Kainuk on the Turkana – Pokot border.

Today CAS, Livestock and Fisheries, Hon. Linah Jebii Kilimo officially launched the Conflict Prevention and Resolution Women’s Peace Caravan for Baringo West Pokot and Turkana counties at Kainuk on the Turkana – Pokot border. The peace initiative is organized by the National Steering Committee on Peace Building and Conflict management in collaboration with RPLPR with the aim of supporting communities by facilitating peace meetings and dialogues that bring together kraal elders and women peace caravan from the affected communities.

In her speech, Madam CAS emphasized the importance of peace and passionately decried the fact that far too many sons and husbands have been lost, leaving many young widows and heartbroken mothers because the senseless violence brought by gun owners bent on proving the bravery. She implored women to spearhead peace because they are the greatest losers.
