PS Harry Kimtai today signed a launch partnership agreement between the National Government, FAO and the County Governments of West Pokot, Marsabit, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River and Turkana in mitigating drought. These are FAO intervention project areas for mitigation and most affected livestock dependent areas. The value for the six emergency projects is Ksh.49,033,007 for mitigating severe dryness and Ksh.82,568,000 for protecting livestock assets and safeguarding livelihoods in Kenya’s ASALS.
PS Kimtai also flagged off Livestock feeds to the affected counties. He said that the Government is in great support of the intervention by FAO and requested the county representatives who were present at the signing and flagging off of feeds to implement the projects perfectly.
