National Government, Counties to join hands in food production

During a successful two day Inter-Governmental Agriculture Forum held in Mombasa on November 21-22, 2016, both National and County levels of Government appreciated the role each was playing in implementing agricultural policies for increased food production.

The two-day high-powered Forum attended by Governors and top Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries officials was co-hosted by Cabinet Secretary Willy Bett and Council of Governors Chairman Peter Munya.

“The two levels of Government are complementing rather than competing with each other in rolling out policies and strategies aimed at fostering food production, poverty alleviation and creation of employment especially for the youth” the two noted during the official opening of the Forum.
