As the Ministry works towards revitalizing the coffee sector, today CAS Madam Anne Nyaga toured the Embu County Coffee Mill in Embu, to assess its progress in milling and sensitize the union leadership on the Cherry Advance Fund and the Coffee Revitalization Program. The team was led by the union chairman and its leadership, whose membership is 120,000 farmers. The county has 24 coffee societies.
Madam Nyaga also visited the beneficiaries of 670 domestic water pans within the county. The 670 households have a water pan each, with a capacity for 1.2 million litres of water.
In Mbeere North, she toured the ongoing 7 miraa marketing sheds and 5 mega earth dams aimed at benefiting the miraa farmers.
She encouraged the farmers to join miraa saccos under their union.
