Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri assured Kenyans today that the Government will clean up the country’s premier grain agency NCPB, in the next 3 months.
The CS regretted that lethargy and complacency in the management of NCPB has led to the rot that it has been in recent times, which has attracted negative headlines in the media.
The CS who was addressing NCPB Regional & Depot Managers at the Board’s Headquarters in Nairobi, said he will personally inspect the Board’s Field operations.
“You must shape up or ship out. You must change before change changes you” the CS told the managers, warning that those who will be caught with impropriety will not be merely transferred as has been the case in the past, but fired forthwith.
He commended competent managers who performed their duties diligently but were unfortunately pulled down by their wayward colleagues.
