November 2018 Crop conditions Bulletin

Late onset of the short rains adversely affected crop production in parts of the country and this is likely to lead to low production during the season. This is especially critical for beans  production due to the short growing period of the crop. However with onset of the rains, the trend is expected to improve and stabilize in December except in parts of the Rift Valley and Coast(Baringo, Samburu, Laikipia, Tana River, West Pokot and Narok). Slight FAW occurences were noted in Trans-Nzoia, Homa Bay and Kisii. Market prices for maize and beans recorded an overall decline while prices of wheat recorded an increase.
